Where it all began

May 2012 – One very normal day as I sat browsing my Facebook newsfeed something caught my eye “Camera Creche”. Are you a Mum that would like to know how to use your Digital SLR? Mmm hmm yes. Would you like to learn during the day with your own camera and be able to bring along your kids? Mmm hmm yes yes. I’d always loved taking photos and a point and shoot camera was always in my bag – but my digital SLR – well that stayed home because I never liked the photos it took – I knew that was a waste but it appeared my chance to change that had come along. Little did I know what that course was going to be the beginning of!!!!! Along I went and with a group of others Mums we were taught by 2 fabulous and sharing professional photographers. With my own camera in hand, I learnt how to use a camera in manual and a whole lot of others things. Week 5 was a styled shoot with our kids – so here I am sharing some of that shoot and a few of my favourite shots taken very shortly after. After that began my journey with workshops, courses, online reading and lots and lots of practice – plus lots of experience which I was fortunate to gain under the guidance of some professionals in the industry who willingly shared their knowledge – for this I am most thankful.
